Researchers Hope The New Drug That Stops Cancer Spread In Mice Leads To One That Works On Humans


Cancer cells metastasize and spread escaping detection by the body’s immune system by mutilating the sugars on their surfaces. It’s P-3Fax-Neu5Ac which blocs those changes. What’s this P-3Fax-Neu5Ac? It’s a drug that stops cancer’s spread in mice. Yes, scientists have found it recently. According to Cory Rillahan, a Chemical Biologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Centre in New York City, “It’s a long way from public use, yet it’s nevertheless promising.”
