Cuban research organization was involved by Roswell Park Cancer Institute to hold a trial of a vaccine for lung cancer in U.S. Dr. Candace Johnson, being the chief executive officer of Roswell Park, announced it at the end of a state foreign trade mission that was held in Havana with private-sector executives and officials. Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo was also present there. After returning to New York, Johnson said in an interview “it seems very exciting”. Roswell Park participated with companies like Pfizer and JetBlue, on the trip by Cuomo. At Havana airport, Cuomo said “it was not a productive way to isolate the past” while he was holding a session with the reporters. Beijing with reduced pollution but China getting polluted instead

What is the cause of lung cancer? The major cause is smoking and breathing in polluted air which harms the lungs thus leading to cancer. Chinese government collected data that revealed decrease in air pollution in Beijing over the first quarter of the year as compared to the end of the year. Greenpeace, environmental protection organisation said that the concentrations of the particulate matter (PM2.5) have reduced its level by 13 percent in the first three months of this year. Zhang Kai, the author from Greenpeace had to say “the government is leading with unprecedented transparency to expose the data of air pollution. Now, the government should look into the fact that the pollution does not get translocated to other cities”. He further added “such strict measure should be applied across the country”. A quick test that can save your life from lung cancer

A quick and simple test has been introduced in the medical world to detect lung cancer within 8 seconds. Lung cancer screenings is not very popular like mammograms and colonoscopies, but medical study shows that this trend will change soon. Keytruda fights lung cancer

Keytruda is a newly discovered drug which proved to be better than other drugs in case of curing lung cancer. Dr. Edward Garon of UCLA has to say “this can be a substantial change for many patients from the way they have been treated before”. His team has tested Keytruda in 495 patients. It was not a total cure but it showed a ray of hope. Lung cancer is causing death profusely in United States. Garon’s team said that patients treated with Keytruda had their cancer stopped growing for almost a year and some still did not get back.Many patients had a mutation in PD-L1 and people who were ingested the drug were more likely to have the mutation.
